Bloqi Chat Not Showing Up?
Bloqi lives in a little chat window in the corner of the page. If your privacy tool is doing its job a little too well, the window never shows up. That is a good sign for your tool and a slightly lonely sign for Bloqi.
What to allow
Bloqi runs on Intercom’s chat service. The chat window loads from a few Intercom hosts, not from intercom.com itself, which is why allowing only that name does not always help.
| Host | What it is for |
|---|---|
widget.intercom.io | Loads the chat button |
js.intercomcdn.com | The chat code |
*.intercom-messenger.com | The chat window itself |
nexus-websocket-a.intercom.io and nexus-websocket-b.intercom.io | Live messages (a persistent connection) |
uploads.intercomcdn.com | Images and files you attach (US region) |
Allow them for the Bloqr site only. You do not need to allow them everywhere.
How, by kind of tool
- Browser extensions (ad and tracker blockers): open the extension’s menu on the Bloqr page, pause it for this site, or add the hosts above as exceptions, then reload.
- DNS filters and network-wide blockers: add the hosts above to the allow list, then reload. If you also use Bloqr as your DNS, nothing changes on our side.
- VPN apps with built-in blocking: turn off the blocking feature for the Bloqr site, or add the hosts as exceptions.
- Corporate networks: ask your IT team to allow the hosts above. They may also need to allow secure websocket traffic (
wss).
Why this is safe to allow
- The chat window is walled off. It runs in its own frame from a different address, so the page you are reading cannot read your messages, and the chat cannot read the page.
- It does not see your lookups. Bloqi never sees what you look up while browsing. It sees what you type in the chat and the details you choose to share.
- Intercom is our chat provider. Like most chat tools, Intercom may receive basic page and device details to make the chat work. Our Privacy Policy covers what is collected.
- You are in control. Allow it for this site only, and remove the exception whenever you like.
Still no chat?
- Reload the page after changing your settings.
- Try a private window with extensions off. If the chat appears, an extension is the cause.
- Check whether your network blocks websocket connections.
- Still stuck? Use the contact link in the footer and tell us which tool you use. We will help from there.
